KWE - Introductory Essays, Critical Reports, and Corrigenda

The introductory essay, written by the volume editor, offers a detailed history of the work from inception through composition, rehearsal, and first performance, along with further production history, while addressing larger editorial and performance issues.

The Critical Report spells out the editoral decisions made in the course of preparing the score and provides thorough descriptions of source material.

Corrigenda files list passages in the scores where errors have been discovered after publication--sometimes revealed by new source evidence--and supply corrections.
