Synopsis

The story of one evening in a dockside bar in Rostock, Germany in 1924. A group of sailors descend on the bar and experience an evening of camaraderie, loss, and self-discovery while interacting with the prostitutes who who work there. The narrative is delivered entirely through the music of Kurt Weill and his various collaborators, most notably Bertolt Brecht.
